Best coffee I had in the entire Illinois (self proclaimed coffee snob from Europe here!) Friendly staff, lovely selection of snacks. Shop local, support local - and this feels very much like it!

Came on a Saturday during the farmers market. The shop was very crowded and the line was super long- all the way to the bathroom. Took about 40-45 mins to finally get our coffee after walking in but the baristas were all super kind and apologized for the wait despite it being out of their control and them working diligently. They have a wide assortment of pastries that look absolutely delicious and of course, coffee, with syrup options (they use the 1883 brand), and a seasonal menu. We got the vanilla and the caramel latte, and both were the perfect amount of sweet and had good flavor. Would absolutely recommend!

It's not easy for me to write this review of Coffee Hound in Bloomington. On the one hand, it's a very nice and popular place, and you can immediately see that visitors enjoy it. Inside, it feels like a creative hub with exhibits of local artists’ works — something that really resonates with me. I genuinely appreciate this kind of collaboration between coffee shops and the art community. I also noticed the traditional stylish ceiling, which is typical of many cafés in older buildings. The coffee itself was good, with an original and rich flavor. However, I was surprised that the shop doesn’t offer the option to have coffee in ceramic or glass cups — something I personally value when drinking coffee on-site. I also liked the girl who took my order. Despite it being a weekday morning, the place was full of people. However, despite its popularity — which naturally suggests the establishment is doing well with profit — I was disappointed by the restroom area. In today’s world, I feel that such spaces should be as fresh renovated and well-maintained as possible. I stopped by during the farmers market, so it was super busy but staff was keeping a steady pace. The caramel latte was creamy and smooth. The pastries are amazing, really fresh with a lot of flavor. I wouldn’t order a chocolate croissant again, the entire middle was an air hole.

Found this coffee roaster during my recent visit to Bloomington. The atmosphere and the space is fantastic. Good and big space with some nice decor. The restroom was also well maintained, clean and big (quite rare nowadays). Ordered an espresso and a summer drink. Espresso: I believe it's a medium roast with notes of milk, honey, and chocolate. Bright acidity in a good way. Don't let it sit and get cold. Maybe Ethiopian guji coffee. Summer drink (blackberry Bianca): Good flavor of blackberry infused with coffee. Excellent balance of sweetness. I would recommend lighter milk (2%) as it would not fill you up too much at the end of the drink. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We had ordered a hot and they gave a cold one, but replaced it with the hot one once I clarified the order. Compared to other specialty coffee shops, I think it's priced a bit towards the higher side. Could benefit from price adjustment. Can potentially pull more people.
